Alamo obtained his bachelor degree in law, concentrating in Economic and Business Law from Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR) in Bandung. He graduated in 2003 as the Valedictorian. During his academic years, he was awarded a merit-based scholarship called the Dharma Siswa Scholarship in 2001 and won the second runner up place in the National Legal Writing competition in his sophomore year. In 2008, Alamo was selected as one of the 9 recipients of the prestigious Hauser Global Scholarship, making him the second Indonesian to have received the award. He graduated from NYU’s LL.M. (Master of Laws) in 2009, concentrating in Corporations Law.
Since the year 2000, Alamo has been taking active roles either as participant, coach or judge in many international law moot court competitions. He received several awards in these competitions, but most notably he won the Best Oralist title and the Outstanding Achievement Award for the Memorials in the Asia Cup 2003 in Tokyo. He has also successfully coached several teams to win the championship.
Alamo started his law career as an intern at Baker & McKenzie’s Jakarta office before he joined a boutique firm Christian Teo & Associates and worked there for four years. Alamo’s practice emphasized on corporate, telecommunication, media, energy, mining and employment law. His works with Christian Teo include advising and handling multinational corporations like adidas, Nu Skin, Mittal Group, Alcatel, New Skies, British Telecommunications, Marsh and LVMH. At the young age of 27, Alamo’s employment law practice had gained him recognition as a Specialist in Employment Law in the 2007-2008 Asia Pacific Legal 500.
Alamo have had the opportunity to work as part of the legal team of PT Principia Management Group, the investment execution arm of Quvat Funds, a private equity fund based in South-East Asia. His works at Principia concerned investments in various industries and projects such as in aviation, energy, telecommunications, banking, manufacturing, retail and services. He also had the opportunity to work as an analyst for another private equity fund for a short period.
Since 2010, Alamo has been on board PT Investasi Film Indonesia (IFI) as Executive Producer and with PT Stellar Indonesia as its General Counsel, a holding company operating in entertainment, media, broadcasting, property and energy.
